GHS Announcements

Daily Announcements for Thursday December 6, 2018 

  • Congrats to our Gallup wrestling team, who hosted on Dec. 1 the annual “Duel in the Dunes” tournament. GHS wrestlers brought back the trophy defeating Grants, Pecos, and Miyamura JV and varsity.  Thanks to all that came out to support or wrestlers, good job wrestlers!!!! 
  • Baseball will be having a bake sale tomorrow lunches during lunch, come and support your GHS baseball team. 
  • If any student is in need of Medical/Behavioral Health services, the Gallup Teen Health clinic is open with a clinic day every Tuesday for any student. Confidential Services is always a priority.  Sports Physicals are also available to any student in need of one.
  • Any student who wants to join the Eurotrip tour for the summer of 2019 needs to see Mrs Seslar ASAP.  The dead line for signing up is December 30, 2018.  We will be traveling to London, Paris, the French countryside, and several stops in Spain.  Don't miss out! 
  • Attention seniors, New Mexico Tech representative will be coming to Gallup High tomorrow Dec. 7 during 7th hour. If you would like to meet with them, please see Mrs. Clark in the counseling office. She will also have a sign-up sheet outside her office. 
  • Students and Staff:  The Gallup High SADD Chapter will be collecting gently used or new gloves, socks and winter hats to be donated to homeless people in our community.  There will be a donation box in the counseling office where you may bring your items.  We will continue collecting items through Friday, December 14.  Please see Ms. Yardley in counseling if you have questions. 
  • The Class of 2019 is looking for a T-Shirt design for Senior Class T-shirts.  Any senior who wishes to submit a design for our T-shirts is welcome to.  Please have your design to Ms. Merrill in C-206 by Wednesday, December 19, 2018.  If we have more than one design, seniors will have the option to vote on the design on Friday, December 21, 2018 
  • Yearbook pre-Sale until December 21st the cost is $50.00, after Christmas break they will go up to $65.00, see Mr. Trujillo in B207. 
  • Students: You may NOT be in the counseling office/career center during class time without a written pass from your classroom teacher or your counselor.  If you need to use the computers there, please get permission. 
  • Yearbook meets after school every Wednesday in Mr. Trujillo's room B207. 
  • Students needing a locker please see Ms. Yazzie in the counseling office. She will be available only in the mornings before school starts to give out lockers. 
  • If you are interested in playing baseball in the spring. Please stop by C101. 
  • New Bengal gear is here! T-shirts, hoodies & jackets (all dress code approved) stop by Mrs. Wargo’s office in counseling to check them out. 
  •  GHS swim team daily practices are at the Gallup Aquatic Center from 4:15 to 6:00 p.m. Please see Ms. Yardley in Counseling for more information. 
  • LGBT club meets in B104 Wednesday after school and Friday morning at 8 AM before school. 
  • Key Club meets in B104 Thursday after school - we are always recruiting members interested in making friends and serving the community. 
  • Newspaper club meets every Tuesdays at 4:00 in C-109. Reach out to Ms. B with any questions. 
  • Students, the Gallup High Key Club is hosting a book drive to help children in Africa build a library. They would like everyone to participate with them by donating children’s books, please take the books to your English classroom. The English class that has the most books donated will receive a free dress down day. All the children’s books that are collected will be donated to help children in Africa build their library and improve their education. See Ms. Streissguth in B104 if you have any questions.
