GHS Announcements

Daily Announcements for Friday February 15, 2019 

  • Remember students there will be NO School Monday February 18 due to Presidents Day! 
  • Congrats to our Boys Bengal Basketball teams for defeating Miyamura last night, Varsity 79-52. Great job boys. 
  • Seniors, if you have not been called out to complete your next step plan, please come see Mrs. Clark in the counseling office ASAP. Next step plans are due March 8! Remember, your diploma can be withheld if you do not complete and turn in your Next step plan. 
  • S.A.D.D. Chapter members and Swimmers, we will be selling dilly bars Friday, February 15 at the game. Please be there by 4:30 to help sell.  Please see Ms. Yardley in counseling if you have questions. 
  • Seniors the following are due TODAY senior pictures & baby pictures,   parent pages are due March 1 if you would like these in the yearbook this year. You can turn in pictures and if there are any questions, you can speak to Mr. Trujillo in B207, or Mariah Saucedo, or Meche Williams. 
  • Seniors with a CIB, JOM will pay for your cap and gown. You must fill out a parent cost form, you can pick this up form Marilyn Smith in the administration office, dead line to turn this form in is TODAY February 15.
  • NHS is hosting practice ACT and AP exams. Sign up with your counselor. The next practice exams will be given on February 22. 
  • Attention seniors: Ft. Lewis College will be visiting Gallup High School on February 27  during 5th hour to go over applications. If you would like to meet with them, please sign up in the counseling office. A sign-up sheet is posted outside of Mrs. Clark office. 
  • Seniors, the deadline to complete credit recovery classes is Monday May 6, 2019 if you are going to graduate on time. Make sure you get it done ASAP. 
  • Prom will be April 13, prom tickets are on sale now during both lunches, $35 for a single and $50 for a couple. 
  • SENIORS: please check to see if you have any fees. All fees must be cleared by graduation. 
  • Attention seniors, if you are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in NM, are an active member or if your immediate family is a member of the Continental Divide Electric Education Foundation, you may be eligible for a scholarship. Come by to see your counselor for the Continental Divide Electric scholarship packet. Deadline to turn it in is May 1, 2019. 
  • Applications are now being accepted for the GHS Mr. & Ms. Dine pageant, for more information please see Mr. Nez in A109 or the Library. 
  • The spring blood drive will be on 21 March. Please Support. We have the permission slips for the students who are 16 and 17. Students 18 and older just need to come and make an appointment with JROTC. 
  • If any student is in need of Medical/Behavioral Health services, the Gallup Teen Health clinic is open with a clinic day every Tuesday for any student. Confidential Services is always a priority.  Sports Physicals are also available to any student in need of one. 
  • Yearbook pre-Sale is going on now, cost is $65.00, see Mr. Trujillo in B207. 
  • Students: You may NOT be in the counseling office/career center during class time without a written pass from your classroom teacher or your counselor.  If you need to use the computers there, please get permission. 
  • New Bengal gear is here! T-shirts, hoodies & jackets (all dress code approved) stop by Mrs. Wargo’s office in counseling to check them out. 
  • Yearbook meets after school every Wednesday in Mr. Trujillo's room B207. 
  • GHS swim team daily practices are at the Gallup Aquatic Center from 4:15 to 6:00 p.m. Please see Ms. Yardley in Counseling for more information.
  •  Drama club meeting in B112 every Tuesday after school. 
  • LGBT club meets in B104 Wednesday after school and Friday morning at 8 AM before school. 
  • Key Club meets in B104 Thursday after school - we are always recruiting members interested in making friends and serving the community. 
  • Newspaper club meets every Tuesdays at 4:00 in C-109. Reach out to Ms. B with any questions. 
  • Students Against Destructive Decision will meet in the Counseling Office on Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m.  Please see Ms. Yardley in the counseling office if you have questions. 
  • Staff and Students:  The Gallup High Relay for Life Team has begun their fundraising for the year.  If you would like to be a Cancer Fighting Maniac, join us at the SADD meetings on Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in the Counseling office.
