GHS Announcements

Daily Announcements for Thursday September 20, 2018 

  • Powderpuff practice begins on Monday September 24.  Juniors will meet at the football field behind the school at 6:00.   Seniors meet on the baseball field at 5:30.  Permission slips must be turned in before you can practice. 
  • LGBT (and friends) support group meets this Friday 8:00AM in B104. 
  • No Key Club meeting today due to homecoming week, next meeting will be September 27. 
  • Picture retakes will be Thursday September 27. 
  • Powderpuff permission forms are due tomorrow; turn in to Miss Langer in C102. 
  • If you are a member of the National Honor Society, please come see Ms. Crowe in C106 by the end of this week. 
  • Seniors who will be 18 years old on or before November 6 can register to vote. Members from the McKinley County Bureau of Election is coming September 26 and 27 during both lunches. All you need is your social security number, physical and mailing address. 
  • Attention all sophomores!  Elections for class officers has been changed to Wednesday September 26, during both lunches, to give candidates more time to campaign.  If you wish to run, see Ms. Kurpiel, B-106.  You may campaign for office until next week. Sophomore Class officers must have and maintain a grade point average--at least, of 2.0 to run and have no behavior referrals.  There is now a Sophomore Class board in between B and C wings that you may check for information. Those wishing to participate in the upcoming class games should contact Jordan Manning, Reylena Tsosie, and or, sponsor, Ms. Kurpiel. All are welcome. 
  • Animal Awareness Group will resume meetings on Mondays after school in B204 on September 24. 
  • Do you want to travel and see other countries? Come with us to Europe in the summer of 2019! We are traveling to England, France and Spain. Time is running out! Prices will increase after October 1, so sign up early! See Mrs. Seslar or Mr. Gearhart for more information! 
  • Students needing a locker please see Ms. Yazzie in the counseling office. She will be available only in the mornings before school starts to give out lockers. 
  • Swimmers pre-season practices will continue on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Aquatic Center from 4:15 to 6:00 p.m.  Any new swimmers are welcome to join us.  You will need a swim cap, swimsuit, goggles and towel.  Please see Ms. Yardley in the Counseling office if you have questions. 
  • New Bengal gear is here! T-shirts, hoodies & jackets (all dress code approved) stop by Mrs. Wargo’s office in counseling to check them out. 
  • MESA meets in C-206 on Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 5pm.  Please see Ms. Merrill or Mrs. Seslar for more information. 
  • LGBT club meets in B104 Wednesday after school and Friday morning at 8 AM before school. 
  • Key Club meets in B104 Thursday after school - we are always recruiting members interested in making friends and serving the community.
